Pre-Trip Preparation
9:00 AM: I started the day with a light, healthy breakfast—oatmeal with fresh fruit. I spent some time focused on clearing my mind and setting my intentions for the trip. My goal was to gain insight into myself and help to shake a recent depression.
11:00 AM: I set up my apartment to create a serene and safe environment. Soft pillows and blankets were spread out, and I turned on the diffuser to fill the air with a relaxing aroma. I selected a playlist of ambient music to play softly in the background.
The Trip
12:00 PM : I consumed 4.5 grams of dried Golden Teacher mushrooms. I sat quietly, focusing on cycling my breath and remaining open to the experience ahead.
12:30 PM : I started feeling a warm, squirmy sensation in my body, and my visuals began to blend. Patterns and colors became more vivid, and I noticed a gentle pulsating rhythm in my surroundings. I felt a sense of excitement and curiosity that forced me to stretch and explore my body.
1:00 PM :The visuals intensified, with intricate geometric patterns forming on the walls and ceiling. My breathes became deeper and longer as I felt a deep connection to my surroundings, as if I were melting into the living, breathing fabric of the universe. I began to go deep into my emotions to explore them from this place.
2:00 PM :At the peak of the trip, I experienced a sense of ego dissolution. My sense of self seemed to dissolve, merging with the world around me. I felt an overwhelming sense of unity and oneness with all life. Insights about my personal journey and recent struggles flowed with tremendous clarity, bringing me to tears and a deep sense of self love and compassion for everyone.
3:00 PM :The intensity of the trip began to subside. The visuals softened, and I felt a deep sense of peace and contentment just as I was. I spent some time journaling about the trip and how I would integrate my new emotional discoveries.
4:00 PM :I felt a gentle return to my normal state of consciousness. I took a cold shower, allowing the water to wash over me, rooting me back into my body. I felt refreshed and rejuvenated, with a renewed sense of purpose and clarity on the direction of my life.
Post-Trip Reflection
5:00 PM :I took myself out for a smoothie and spent some time reflecting on the experience. The trip had provided me with profound insights into the light and dark essence of the human condition. I felt more connected to my self, my spirits and the world around me.
Evening: I spend the evening at Third Beach, jumping off rocks into the ocean swimming, and hanging out with some old friends. We discussed our lives, goals, struggles and passions. I felt easily able to connect and empathize with my friends in a deep way. I smiled at every stranger I saw.
Overall Experience: The mushroom trip was a deeply transformative experience. It provided me with a heightened sense of awareness, creativity, dedication and connection. The insights gained during the trip have inspired me to pursue my artistic endeavors with renewed vigor and passion. To be a better person for myself and for everyone else I come into contact with. I feel very grateful for the experience and look forward to incorporating these insights into my daily life.
